We would like our son to have as stable a learning environment as possible during these uncertain times and feel a smaller learning pod would be an effective way to help control COVID-19 and it’s disruption to his education.
We do not want to apply any additional pressure on our son to “catch up” this fall especially under an unpredictable hybrid learning method that will likely change at any given time. We feel this could set everyone up for failure and we feel a more controllable routine will provide a sense of security (always using caution) to keep our son’s education evolving but consistent.
Our current homeschooling techniques have proven highly effective in reading, writing and mathematics and we feel a smaller more focussed method will help continue his education on a positive path. As a small community we would like to share all of our ideas to help foster our children’s growth.
In todays ever-changing world we would like to prioritize our learning model based on socio-emotional health and empathy that we feel are virtually impossible to nurture through a computer screen.
Now is the time for change. We have continually sought out a nurturing, creative, holistic, and adventurous way to educate our children and feel institutional protocols will ultimately limit this for our family. We believe in a logical hands on approach to confront any challenges, adversity and illness.
The coming school year is changing before our eyes but we still have time to adapt and to create a memorable and magical experience for our children during these unprecedented times.
