The Setting
We meet on 3.4 acres of private property on Williamson Creek in Southeast Austin.
Place-based nature education is crucial for children's development. It helps them connect with the natural world, understand their local environment, and develop a sense of place. By learning about the plants, animals, and ecosystems around them, children can develop deeper appreciation for the world they live in and become stewards of the environment.
The students will have access to the makerspace, herbal arts shed, a rich library, a 100-step meditative labyrinth, the gardens, a state of the art geodome, a kitchen for recipes and experiments, Williamson creek access, and numerous outdoor play areas throughout. We share our grounds with our favorite good girl Bailey, the school pup, and our friendly ducks, Guinea fowl, and chickens.
